What kind of person does our world value? Who seems to get all the attention and praise? The rich. The rock stars. The strong. The beautiful. The athletes. The powerful…. Is that you? It sure doesn’t feel that way, does it? What kind of person does our world value? Someone who’s very different than me.
But God isn’t like our world. Do you know whom God values? Listen: “These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my Word” (Isaiah 66:2). Greatness doesn’t come from what we do or how we look. It comes from what Jesus has done for us. Our value isn’t based on our wealth or our weight, it’s based on what Jesus was willing to pay for us: Everything! So this is the kind of person God values: The one who is humble and contrite and who trembles at his Word. Sound upside-down? Isn’t it great? By faith, the one whom God values is you!
