God Knows the End

When you look out the window of an airplane, you can’t see what’s in front of you. Have you noticed that? It’s beautiful to see what’s on the side, but you can never see what’s coming next. You also can’t see what’s behind you. When you look out the window of an airplane, all you can see is the side.

Isn’t that true in life? We can’t see where we’re going. All we can see is right now. We also can’t see where we’ve come from. The past quickly flies from our minds. All we see is the present. That’s hard. Do you want to know the end? The end of the trouble? The end of the pain? The end of this waiting? I do! But all we see is what’s happening right now.

Remember this: God knows the end. God says, “I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please” (Isaiah 46:10). Unlike us, God doesn’t just see the present. He sees the past—even ancient times! And he sees the future—the very end! God knows the end. We can trust in him.

So take a deep breath. The God who knew you before you were born… The God who sent his Son to die for you… The God who has prepared a home for you in heaven… He knows the end.
