God did this. Whatever you’re facing today, here’s a comforting truth: God did this.
Even when life seems impossibly cruel. Have you heard the story of Joseph in the Bible? Joseph’s ten older brothers were jealous of him, so they threw him into a pit. Then they sold him into slavery in Egypt. Sound good? It was awful! Rejected by family. A slave in a foreign country.
It got worse. Joseph served his master faithfully, but he was falsely accused of rape by his master’s wife and thrown in prison. Joseph tried to help his fellow prisoners, but they forgot about him as soon as they got their freedom. Joseph’s life seemed like a cursed failure.
Do you know who was behind all that? God. God did this! After years in prison, Joseph got released, saved the country from famine, and was promoted to second in command of all Egypt. Looking back over his life, Joseph told his brothers, “It was not you who sent me here, but God” (Genesis 45:8.)
God did this. That’s true for you too. Maybe today you’re in the pit or are unjustly accused. What you can’t see is how God is working behind the scenes for your good. Maybe today you’re in charge and feel like you’re saving the world. What you can’t see is how God is working behind the scenes to open doors for you. Like Joseph, learn to say, “God did this.” We can trust in his plan!
